Day 2 | Montreal - Trois-Riviere - Quebec City

This morning at 08:00 hours, you will be met by our local representative and provided with a welcome kit which includes driving instructions, vouchers, maps, and brochures of the places that you are about to visit. Leave Montréal and drive along the Saint Lawrence River to ancient Trois-Rivière, which dates back to 1634 and is the second oldest French city in the province. Attractions here include The Forges of Saint Maurice National Historic Site, Canada’s first ironmaking operation, Trois Rivières Cathedral, and the Ursuline Monastery. Day 3 | Quebec City - Riviere-du-Loup

Distance: 128 miles / 206.0 km

Explore the three-level city of Québec, featuring the Fields of Abraham, the Citadel, the colossal Château Frontenac, and the Old Town. The three levels of this historical city are connected with inclined cable railways. Continue on Route 132 to Kamouraska, which is a typical summer resort village with fine old buildings, narrow winding streets, waterfront promenade, quays, and quaint homes. Continue on to Rivière-du-Loup, known for its eight beautiful waterfalls, the largest one being 100 feet/30 meters high. A large illuminated cross highlights the town, and the surrounding park offers a panoramic view of the region. Day 4 | Riviere-du-Loup - Rimouski - Mont Joli - Matane

Distance: 112 miles / 180.2 km

Continue on to beautiful Le Bic Park, which consists of capes, bays, inlets, sand bars, cliffs, islands, and mountains swept by saline air. Throughout this rugged coastal park are thousands of marine birds, and on the scraggy rocks are rare wild flowers. Continue on to Rimouski, the administrative capital of eastern Québec. One attraction here is the Lamontagne House, a restored 18th century half-timbered house furnished as it was in the 1700s. Another option is the Musée de la mer de Pointe-au-Père, which presents the little-known history of the Transatlantic Empress of Ireland. Day 5 | Matane - Sainte-Anne-des-Monts - Gaspe - Perce

The rugged coastline unfolds before you as you continue past Matane and on to Cap-Chat. Visit the Aeolian Of Cap-Chat, the tallest and most powerful windmill in the world. For spectacular breathtaking scenery, visit Gaspésie Park, which is dominated by the Chic-Chocs Mountains, with 4,160ft/1,268m peaks. The heart of the Park is located near Sainte-Anne des-Monts and the main roads that go around the peninsula. Back on the main road, drive to La Martre and visit the bright red wooden lighthouse. Continue on to the Forillon National Park, passing mountains and scenic fishing towns. At the park’s entrance, see Canada’s tallest lighthouse. Then continue to Cap-Bon-Ami, the northernmost part of Forillon National Park, and observe the marine birds. Then, on the southern part of the park, and see the Grande Grave heritage site, where the Hyman & Sons store, the warehouse, and the Blanchette house reveal an unforgotten past. Continue on to the town of Gaspé where you can see the Jacques Cartier Monument. The Gaspésie Museum, next to the monuments, presents artifacts pertaining to Jacques Cartier’s exploration of this region. Continue on to Percé for the next two nights. Day 6 | Perce

An important fishing port, Percé also offers Île Bonaventure and Percé Rock Park. Bonaventure Island (Île Bonaventure) houses a glorious wildfowl sanctuary. Percé Rock (Rocher-Percé), the most famous monument of the Gaspé, rises abruptly from the sea and is the last of an original group of four monoliths. It is pierced by a large arched opening and presents a spectacular sight. After the tour, enjoy browsing in the quaint shops of the picturesque village of Percé, while enjoying a spectacular view of the Rock.

Day 7 | Perce - Carleton

Distance: 121 miles / 194.7 km

Continue along the scenic seacoast, and stop in Bonaventure. See the Acadian Museum with its Gaspesian art and craft shops on-site. Then continue on to New Richmond and stop at the Gaspesian British Heritage Village and travel back in time by visiting the twenty-four buildings of this historic village, and reliving the exciting life of pioneers. Drive a little past Carleton where there is an option to visit Miguasha Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which conserves a cliff rich in fossils, and the Miguash Museum’s teaching laboratory.
